If you know me, you know I don't participate in marathons. Hell, I have barely run since sixth grade softball. Why now? I am running on April 17th as part of TEAM TISCH MS in the Women’s Half Marathon in Central Park because I believe strongly in the cause I am supporting-TISCH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS RESEARCH CENTER OF NEW YORK.
I began working at the International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice (IMSMP) in Nov. and quickly learned that I made the right choice as I saw the practical, everyday benefit of a caring Dr. Sadiq with a forward-thinking, patient focused practice. Every day I watch and listen to my best friend, Christine, struggle trying to be a caretaker to her mother who was diagnosed with MS before she was born. Every week, a new appointment, a new struggle with insurance or Access-a-Ride. Dr. Sadiq works tirelessly to end MS, and to alleviate the kind of struggle my best friend, her mother and all of our patients face because of a merciless disease.
I am running for the only place in the U.S. that conducts FDA approved stem cell research with the singular aim: to find a cause and cure for MS in our lifetime. My employer. Phase I of the Clinical Stem Cell Trial was a huge success and as we begin Phase I I we are in need of funding. 100% of proceeds will go to Phase II of the Stem Cell Trial so that Dr. Sadiq and TISCH MS Research Center can continue cutting edge research and give our patients hope in stem cell treatments.
Please help me by donating using the 'Give Now' button. I know in the 13th mile I will feel tired and weak, but I will run harder and stronger for all those affected by MS. Spread the word by sharing my page! Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means so much!
