I became my dad's caregiver more than ten years ago; he has a type of dementia called Lewy Body dementia. It's a terrible disease, like all dementias, and it stole his life.
LBD is a Parkinson's - related dementia that causes terrible cognitive decline, hallucinations, delusions, autonomic nervous system issues, and physical symptoms similar to Parkinson's.
I'm still my dad's caregiver but now I also work on behalf of other caregivers and their families - especially those dealing with LBD.
The Lewy Body Dementia Association does amazing work by supporting caregivers, giving out information, and helping support research.
My family and friends wanted to help me support the LBDA, so we banded together to create this lovely 'Care Package' for one lucky caregiver or just an everyday hero that donates to help caregivers. It has many yummy things like a salon haircut, massages, chocolate, a cozy West Elm throw, books and help videos, local teas and coffee and more.
Please help me help caregivers and spread awareness about LBD by donating to the LBDA; whether it is $1 or $100, it all helps! Leave your email for a chance to win!
