Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. After being on the board of Consider Haiti (CH) for over 3 years now, I have more respect and admiration for the efforts and great strides CH is taking to care for the children of Haiti.
This organization is 100% funded and run by the blood, sweat, and tears of its volunteers and supporters. Every year we touch thousands of Haitian children's lives whether it's through one of our core programs: clean water, sustainable nutrition, and medical care or through our medical trips where we conduct 3-5 medical clinics over the span of a week in Haiti.
All of our programs and our efforts are geared towards creating local, sustainable solutions. We work with local health agents in Haiti to help Haitian children and their families by using local, life-saving resources rather than bringing outside resources that ultimately stifle the growth of their local community.
During our upcoming medical trip April 13-20th, I will be going to Haiti with a medical team to conduct 4 medical clinics in Haiti. These clinics are vital not only to help with immediate medical needs but also gathering data and checking on the children in our community health programs. Consider Haiti must have these trips be a net-zero against our yearly budget otherwise we could not continue to fund our core programs. So, that is why I am raising as much I can to help as MANY children as I can get the nutrition, clean water and medical care they need and deserve! Will you consider helping me meet my goal?
