Mind over Matter (MoM) is an all-female, British adaptive cycle team; comprising a mix of military (both serving and veterans) and civilians.
The aim of the team is to raise awareness of the benefits, both physical and psychological, of cycling as a sport, whatever one’s age or ability.
On 15th June 2019, Team MoM will embark on one of the World’s toughest cycle races; Race across America. They will cycle non-stop, from Oceanside California to Annapolis in Maryland in shifts, over 3,000 miles, crossing 12 states, climbing over 190,000ft across both the Rockies and the Appalachians and passing through deserts in temperatures that can reach 45 degrees Celsius.
MoM will be raising funds and awareness for Women in Sport, the leading UK charity that researches sport purely from the perspective of women and girls. Women in Sport use the insight gained to then drive change through campaigns and partnerships.
Currently, many women and girls are missing out on the lifelong benefits of sport. Women in Sport want to change this, now, for every woman and girl in the UK. We’re in, are you?
