I’m raising money for MQ Transforming Mental Health as more research is needed to understand and help the millions of people affected by mental health, my daughter included.
Michaela tragically took her own life on 24th July 2016. It doesn't get any easier saying or typing that! Mik is my youngest of two children. A gorgeous, intelligent, determined young lady who struggled with life. Unless you have experienced mental health first hand, you will never understand what it is like to suffer from this debilitating illnes. Nor the struggles and heartache that our family faces that simply cannot be put into words.
I’m taking part in a challenging 5 day trek in Colombia in October this year to raise funds and hopefully raise awareness. All money raised will go to MQ, I have covered the cost of the trip myself, I'm only saying that as I want you to know every penny donated with go to MQ. I'm asking everyone I know to find it in their hearts to donate just £1 each to help this worthy cause.
Many thanks for your support xx
I am proud to be raising funds for MQ Transforming Mental Health as more research is needed to understand and help the millions of people affected by mental health.
Too many of us have experienced, are experiencing or know someone that is affected by their mental health. I hadn’t heard of MQ until Amber (Norma’s daughter-in-law) decided to raise funds for them in memory of Michaela. MQ are doing ground breaking research into cause, prevention and ultimately finding a cure for mental health illnesses. I hope that the trek will help raise their profile and of course, provide them with much needed funds to continue their work until their ultimate goal is reached.
Like Norma, I am covering the cost of the trip myself, so that every penny you donate goes straight to MQ. I would be so grateful if you would support us in this challenge, just £1 from everyone we know would be a LOT of funds raised. Thank you x
