My Story

Our team (Mark, Neil and Ruth)  are planning to undertake a unique challenge!
Over Christmas three of us have set ourselves the challenge to do an off-road mountain bike traverse of the South Island, from Nydia bay in the north to Doubtful Sound in the south. The route will cover roughly 1250km, over some remote terrain which we hope will take us 30 days of riding. We aim to ride as close to the main divide as possible; to follow as much single track as possible; to be self sufficient, and have fun!

Please help support us by donating to our chosen children's charity - Variety. Variety fund a broad range of programmes, from much-needed medical equipment, to life-changing mobility needs, to innovative educational initiatives.

Each year Variety provides around 450 deserving or disadvantaged children with the freedom and independence of their very own bike through their Bikes for Kids programme. Some of these children have overcome adverse circumstances, in some situations the family is simply not in a position to purchase a bike and in other cases the programme recognises and rewards children who are role models at their school or in their community.

With your sponsorship, more kids can experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike.

Thanks,
Ruth, Neil and Mark
