Lyndon and James are first and foremost family men with a shared interest in climbing mountains on bikes.
When The Pioneer mountain bike event (https://www.thepioneer.co.nz/) combined this interest into a race, a natural attraction was created.
The event sees teams of two climbing a total 15,124 metres (to the summit of Mt Cook 4 times or Mt Everest 1.7 times) over 424km in 6 days between 25-30 November this year at some of the high points in Central Otago.
Lyndon and James wanted each metre climbed to count for more than just personal satisfaction.
A cause was selected:- Autism NZ. A Non-profit charity supporting people and families living with Autism.
With the blessing of Autism NZ and support from the team sponsor Jetmaster Fires (http://jetmaster.co.nz), they want to raise money for this worthy organisation.
For every meter climbed by Lyndon and James over the course of the event, you can nominate how much you want to donate to Autism NZ
Total meters = 15,124m
1/4c per m $37.81
1/2c per m $75.62
1c per m $151.24
2c per m $302.48
5c per m $756.20
10c per m $1512.40
The actual per meter or rounded will be greatly accepted by Autism NZ.
Please help us in raising a sizable total similar to total metres we aim to achieve.
