Hi, I’m Alicia, ex-bachelorette 2016!
I’ll be taking part in the Social Experiment THE CAGED BEING ‘40 People 40 Hours’
This is a simulation of the cruel life of a caged animal & aims to raise awareness on Factory Farming in NZ.
I’m participating because I want to help open the eyes of the NZ public.
I’m unsure how I’ll cope in this situation- unlike the animals of our Factory Farms;
• I have the daily freedom to move, walk, & to go where I want to go,
• to see sunlight & feel fresh air on my face,
• I have a good diet and access to clean water,
• I don’t live in fear, pain or distress.
No longer should this be ignored and this unnecessary suffering is unacceptable.
They’re imprisoned… & haven’t even committed a crime. It’s time to make a change. www.cagedbeing.org.nz
How old are you? 28 What do you do? I currently work for the New Zealand Government but have always had a passion for animals. Home is a small farmlet of adopted rescue animals and I was previously employed with SPCA.
What's your hobbie? I love to bake and also to cook- to show people how delicious non-meat meals can be!
Something interesting about yourself? I am an ex-Bachelorette from the second NZ season in 2016. 23 beautiful women joined me on this epic journey, which saw me be the 13th to leave. It was odd living with 23 women as opposed to 20 animals! One experience I will never forget, but needless to say I missed my furry family.
Final comments? I had the honor of being an Ambassador for SAFE for their SAFEshopper App launched in 2016 and promoting cruelty free makeup choices. As I always say "Looking good no longer has to be at the expense of animals anymore."
