Your support for my Rally for Haiti initiative would mean a huge amount to me in raising much-needed awareness and funds for the people of Haiti.
I’ve been Haven’s Northern Ireland Ambassador since 2008, and am regularly involved in fundraising initiatives for Haiti.
When I learned of the damage caused in Haiti by Hurricane Matthew in October 2016, I decided to undertake something a bit different to try to raise funds to relieve some of these latest difficulties which the people of Haiti are experiencing.
Many years ago, I was a regular competitor in rallying throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, competing at championship level. I decided that I would undertake a ‘Rally for Haiti’ around Ireland over five days: 3-7 April 2017.
My aims are to raise awareness of the plight of the people of Haiti, raise the profile of the Irish charity Haven and the good work it is doing, and raise funds to support Haven’s work in Haiti.
This is going to see five days of driving around the circuit of Ireland, with stop-offs in towns and cities en route, and some familiar faces might even join me along the way. I’ll be holding ‘Welcome’ events at the different stop-off points, collecting donations and sharing the story of the people of Haiti.
I am so extremely grateful for any support you can give, and it will go a long way in supporting the people of Haiti to recover from the third major natural disaster in just over six years.
Any donation you can make here would be fantastic, and, if you would like to get involved in any fundraising activities or events to tie in with the Rally for Haiti, I would love to hear from you too!
