My Story

I’ll be running 5km a day for the month of May along with another 30 social isolators to raise vital funds for Women’s Aid.

Now more than ever their work is crucial to help women and children in crisis so know that any donation you can make will be going to a great cause.

During Covid-19, many of us are sheltering in our homes, our safe spaces. For victims of domestic violence, their homes are often the least safe spaces for them to be, and there is already worrying data coming out from China and Italy that suggests an increase in domestic violence during Covid-19.

Women's Aid works to make women and children safe from domestic abuse and violence. They provide huge value and support to these victims at all times, and is a cause I feel is even more important during the current situation than ever before.

We are going to raise funds across the month of May, by running 5km every day, to support the amazing work being done by Women’s Aid. But we need your help!

So what can you do?

---- Do it with us! ----

If you want to join us on this challenge, let me know! The more the merrier, and it would certainly go a long way to hitting the €5k goal with a few more of you going the distance with us! All you have to do is:

1.Run a minimum of 5km every single day for the month of May.
2.Run each 5km however you like, be it fast or slow.
3.No missing a day and carrying over to a 10km the next day. Stay committed and find a way to do the 5km each day!

If that sounds like too much, even joining us on a handful of 5kms across the month would be huge!

----Raise the profile!----

Sharing this page, and giving it the occasional shout out on your social media channels will help drive some traffic and donations, and might even help me find another good skin who'll join in the challenge!

----Raise funds! ----

If you're on board for the good cause, but can't join us on the 5kms, then take it on yourself to raise even €50 for Women's Aid by rounding up friends, family, and colleagues, you'd be doing them a huge service!
