We have established the Harry Mullin Memorial Fund to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Chaplaincy Office and the Bereavement Counselling Office at the Coombe Hospital.
Harry was born on the 5th February 2020 at 29+5 Weeks in the Coombe Women & Infants Hospital in Dublin. Harry weighed 1.7kg (3 lb 12 oz) at birth and was given Neonatal ICU support immediately after birth. As his older brother, Jonah, had required hospitalisation soon after birth and spent 9 days in Neonatal ICU at Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin before making a full recovery, Harry was monitored closely throughout the pregnancy for signs of a similar condition, which unfortunately turned out to be the case.
We are forever grateful to the obstetrician, midwives and team that delivered Harry safely and to the highly skilled and compassionate consultants, doctors and nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that cared for Harry and worked tirelessly to help him. The following day, 6th Febuary, Harry's condition sadly deteriorated suddenly and despite extensive efforts, Harry passed away in his parents arms on the evening of the 7th Febuary after a very brave fight.
We hope, that in Harry's name, countless babies and their families will be supported and healed. ~ Donna & Michael Mullin
