Thanks a million for visiting the fundraising page of our big cycle, 'Bike Back Home'.
We, Stef Russell and Nick Doran, aim to cycle from Hongseong, South Korea to Dublin, Ireland over the course of seven to nine months, starting in March 2016.
This is a distance of approximately 15, 000 kilometres. We plan to avoid all air travel but will undertake three ferry journeys: Incheon - Qingdao; Rotterdam - Hull and Holyhead - Dublin.
Through the promotion of our cycle we hope to raise awareness, and money, for mental health issues and we plan to donate all raised cash to Headstrong, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. All money raised will go directly to Headstrong, and will not be used by us to cover any of our travel costs. We hope to raise one euro for each kilometre cycled which makes our target €30,000 ( €1 x 15,000km x 2 people) and we really appreciate all donations, no matter how small.
We believe Headstrong are a very worthy cause and we would very much appreciate your support in helping us to raise funds for them. Our target of €30,000 will enable Headstrong to cover the cost of a Clinical Support Worker who, over the course of a 12 month period, would work directly with approximately 120 young people. If you'd like to learn more about them, you can read the information below. You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from us thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. And again, any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
