Andy and I had a scare with our second child, Charlie, earlier this year when he suddenly developed a blood disorder. We were so grateful to find out he was not in fact diagnosed with Leukaemia as we had anticipated from the initial results.
This inspired me to help support and raise awareness of the work of Children's Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation. It's incredibly sad that anyone suffers a Haematological (blood) cancer, much like Andy's mum (Donna) did 2 years ago, but more tragic for this to happen to a child and result in loss of such young lives.
Andy communicated to me that for his 40th birthday, he wanted to do something that involved giving and not receiving. He suggested cooking a big BBQ for the homeless but I thought something that provided for more than a day's help was possibly more satisfying. Hence I have set this up.
This is Andy's birthday present. He doesn't want a gift; his gift will be this surprise Fundraising page in his name that I will show to him on Saturday 19th October.
My goal is $5000.
