Depression has a terrible impact on the lives of too many people. Over one million Australians are diagnosed every year, and these are just the ones we know about! By running around Australia, with the support of the Race Around Australia 2 (RAA2) crew, I hope to make a positive difference to the lives of many.
Whilst completing this epic adventure, I have also set myself another personal challenge to become the fastest person to have ever run around Australia. To do so I need to complete 13,383km in under 174 days at a daily average of more than 76.91km. This mark was set by Pat Farmer in 1999. The journey commenced from Lismore, NSW, on 19 April and if all goes to plan I will be back home by early October.
In 2011 during RAA1 I became the fastest person to have cycled around Australia.
