I'm Peter McLean and for 11 years, my daughter Alyssa who has cerebral palsy (pictured above on the right), and many thousands of others like her through the years, has been supported by The Ability Centre (formerly The Centre for Cerebral Palsy) in Western Australia.
We were devastated when Alyssa was diagnosed with CP as a baby. The work and support of the Centre staff (and numerous others) has been vital to her having a happy and developing life - and to keeping us sane and healthy as a family.
I'm running the True Grit obstacle course in South-Western Australia on October 29, 2017. It's a challenging course that I've been working up to as I approach my 49th birthday. But the hard work and challenge involved in this is nothing compared to the challenges Alyssa and those like her face every day.
(You can read more about the True Grit course here: http://www.truegrit.com.au/event.php?location=PERTH)
I want to run for my daughter and the many I've met with CP or who have kids with CP, and thereby support The Ability Centre's vital work.
Please support my True Grit efforts by sponsoring me with a donation to The Ability Centre.
Thank you so much!
