My name is Anita Heiss. I am a writer, reader and a runner. I am also the Manager of the Epic Good Foundation and a Lifetime Ambassador of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF). Since 2013, I have been running to raise money for the ILF. Last year I did the Outback (half) Marathon and this year I will complete my first (and maybe my last) full marathon. The race is on July 29 and you can read more about it here: http://australianoutbackmarathon.com/
I run to raise awareness about the poor literacy skills in many of our most disadvantaged communities, particularly in the Northern Territory.
I run because I am fit and healthy enough to do so.
I run because I want to work for the cash you might think to donate.
If you are like me and love reading and have access to books via bookstores and local libraries then let me ask you: Can you imagine a world without books?
I'd appreciate any and all support and so would the ILF.
