On the 22nd of April 2020, Victoria Police lost four dedicated and hard working Police members in the line of duty after a tragic accident on the Eastern Freeway in Kew, Victoria.
Whilst I didn’t personally know any of these four hero’s, as a current serving member I was deeply impacted by the loss of four of our own.
I have signed up to complete Run4Blue - committing to run throughout the month of May to raise money for Victoria Police Legacy. I had planned to run 50 kilometres prior to the tragic events of Wednesday evening.
My goal for May is to run 159.485 kilometres. Each kilometre dedicated to the members we have lost.
27.417km for Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor
40.942km for Senior Constable Kevin King
45.438km for Constable Joshua Prestney
45.688km for Constable Glen Humphris
These numbers represent each of their registered numbers, assigned to them when they were sworn in as Police.
My goal is to raise $1000 for their families.
