Just over 12 months ago I watched the ABC series "Man Up" which was pulled together by Gus Worland from Triple M Sydney.
It is a documentary that focuses on the current male suicide rate in Australia.
Through watching this documentary I was shocked to learn that 8 males in Australia commit suicide every day. Yes that's right 8 males every day!
So in "Sui Survive Challenge 1" I managed to raise 23k for "Beyond Blue" by completing every 1 hour fitness session at The Woonona Bulli RSL Fitness Centre, many of these back to back. That's a total of 36 x 1 hour sessions in 6 days.
Well the urge has grown stronger over the past couple of months and I have decided to complete "Sui Survive Challenge Take 2" to raise money for "The Black Dog Institute"
My goal this year is 30k, with the first 10k raised being matched by my Employer TABCORP.
I also need to give a massive shout out to the CEO of The Woonona Bulli RLS Club Michael Brennan, his board, marketing Team, bar staff and all the guys at the WB Fitness centre who have supported both of these fundraising events.
So please get on board and help put a stop to this terrible Australian statistic....
