As a young’un I regularly lost myself in reading and writing, my rather quirky brain coming up with tales about families of dragons created out of various food groups and poems about getting through High School. Writing was a respite, and it was enjoyable! Flash forward quite a few years and the first place I started volunteering when I came to Sydney was the Sydney Story Factory. It’s a place for young people to discover their own voice through writing, whatever is going on in their lives. This was something that meant a great deal to me growing up.
I haven’t been writing as much as I would have liked to in the past few years, so this September I’m putting pen to paper and fingers to laptop to create 10,000 words and get my mojo back.
I’d like to share them with you… if you donate! If you give the Sydney Story Factory money through this page (and let me know your postal address), I’ll send you a letter with news, musings and tales from Sydney.
