I’m Sara Aaron. I am 14 years old. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with a large brain tumour. After two grueling six hour operations, my treating surgeon, Dr Charlie Teo, was able to get the tumour out. However I was left weakened from the neck down, unable to walk, feed myself or even sit up unassisted.
Over the last 10 years, with the help of my mum and dad, I have recovered completely. I now intend to climb Mount Killimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. This June, my dad and I are heading out to Tanzania to tackle the mountain. We have been putting in the hours of training in the cold and the rain and we are almost ready.
It’s now my turn to give back. I would like to raise money to help find a cure for brain cancer. I am doing this through the Cure For Life foundation who are doing such amazing work in researching a cure. Whilst we are climbing the tallest mountain in Africa we would love to feel your support especially when it gets tough near the top. Please help us raise money to find a cure by sponsoring me through this Everyday Hero Page. Thanks soooo much.
