On the 10th of November Billy and I will be running up a volcano in the Southern part of Peru, of about 6000 meters. The track is about 40km long and because of the extreme altitude will likely take us between 6-8 hours to complete.
Why are we doing this? It sounds crazy?
We are doing this because we have a strong drive to help young people with mental health issue, spread awareness about these issues and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
Both Billy and I have had our share of challenges with mental health, and we have witnessed our friends and family suffer from it too. Did you know that more than 75 per cent of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25? Mental health is a big problem for young people in our society right now. We also believe there is still a lot of stigma attached to it which makes this issue even more difficult and as a young person myself this deeply upsets me.
We hope that with your help we can not only provide resources to help young people but also show people that you really can conquer any mountain standing in your way, whether it’s a mountain in your mind or one made of rock and snow
