RSPCA South Australia was formed in 1875. Our role is to protect innocent animals against cruelty, and provide care to thousands of sick, injured and abandoned animals every year. We enforce the Animal Welfare Act, investigate reports of alleged animal cruelty, and lobby government and industry for improvements to legislation and animal welfare standards.
In the 2015/2016 financial year, our shelters and foster care network cared for 10,059 animals, 683 more animals compared with the previous year.
RSPCA South Australia relies on the community for approximately 90% of our funding. It is only with your support that we are able to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome thousands of animals each and every year!
