My Story

We are getting a 'Regiment' of runners together to tackle the 2016 Sydney Running Festival on Sunday the 20th of September to raise much needed funds for Professor Dominic Rowe's research team 'Motor Neurone Disease Service' at Macquarie University. 100% of funds will go towards Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research.

Our family have been significantly affected by this horrible disease with two members passing away, aged 55 and 57 and the third being diagnosed in late 2013, aged just 30. The pain and anguish we collectively have felt is the driving force behind our fundraising efforts. It is our aim to help find a cure so that no other family must endure or experience MND.

Currently MND is a debilitating, terminal neurological disease that causes death between 1-5 years after diagnoses. For every person diagnosed research states that at least 14 people are negatively effected. An estimated 19,000 people currently have MND in Australia. The incidence of this disease is increasing every year.

We appreciate all the support we have received and thank you for your generous donations. Together the 'Regiment' can make a difference.
