My 5 year old son has recently been diagnosed with Left Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy.
I have decided not only to do the Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney for my son but for all other children who have Cerebral Palsy.
This will be my first Ironman 70.3 and it will be the most physical and mentally challenging thing I have done.
With every turn over of my arms in the 1.9km swim, every pedal of the 90kmbike and every stride forward I will run 21.1km will be not only for my son but for all other children and their families that face these movement challenges everyday, hour and minute of their lives.
I have been reading the stories of others families and so many are doing it really tough with not enough funding to support their needs and then there is the emotional struggle that can also take its toll.
By donating you are helping those with CP have access to yearly checkups. Physio, Speech and OT assessments, Social worker support whenever they require.
I am so grateful for the amount of support we have already received for Lachlan's condition through the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and by raising funds is a way for me to give back.
By you reading this it is also creating awareness for this disability that affects so many.
