Vikki and Neale Glanfield are about to embark on our dream holiday. The trip will see us cycling our way from Istanbul to Paris and clocking up some 6000 scenic kilometres along the way. We’ll be attending the 100th anniversary of ANZAC Day at Gallipoli, celebrating 25 years of marriage and to cap it off, Vikki’s 50th birthday. The route will take in Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Andorra, Germany and Luxembourg. To add to the challenge we’ll take on some of the classic mountain stages of the Tour de France and the Giro with climbs of the Stelvio, Col du Gailibier, Alpe du’Heuz and Mont Ventoux.
Having no fixed address for four months and sleeping in a rather cosy tent for the majority of the time got us to thinking that whilst we’re enjoying ourselves living like this, back home there are others for whom a tent would be a bit of luxury. So we’ve decided to team up with Youth Care Hervey Bay to see if we can make a difference for homeless youths. We’ll be trying to raise funds to help those in the community to get that foot up they need to get their lives back on track.
