“I was 19 when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I think the first thing that I asked after they took out my left ovary was, ‘how will this affect my fertility?’” Vali Creus, pictured here, is the face of the Women's Miracle Mums Appeal.
Left infertile from ovarian cancer treatment, Vali had the world’s first successful pregnancy from an ovarian tissue graft to her abdomen in 2013. She gave birth to twin girls Alexis and Kaia in November 2013.
The Women’s pioneered this ground breaking procedure over many years and now the preservation and transplant of ovarian tissue offers new hope for women like Vali.
What has been achieved is amazing. But there is so much more to do. Support our Miracle Mums Appeal so more women can realise their dream of being mum to a healthy baby. Funds raised from this appeal go towards researching medical breakthroughs to help women facing challenges with pregnancy, prevent miscarriage and improve survival for babies born prematurely. Thank you.
