The newly weds have created this page because we want to make a difference. Our hearts are very close to this charity (especially with the recent passing of Matty's cousin Rosie).
Do you every wake up scared, worried, feeling overwhelmed or anxious? Or do you know someone who does? It's OK to feel this way, most people do at some point in their life. However some people lose the battle in their heads and feel as though there is no way out.
As a newly wedded couple; we know very well that life gets busy, society places pressure and our own desire to be good serving people can all be overwhelming. As a couple we have accepted a challenge to ride 13 days in Sri Lanka 100 km a day, to raise the awareness of the first telephone counselling services in Sri Lanka. CCCLine (Lifeline Sri Lanka) encourages people to talk about their life concerns, it is a safe place where anyone can openly discuss their problem, hear that it is ok to go through life having these feelings, but also receive comfort in knowing that people care about them and love them enough to support them through this tough time.
We are inspired by the work of CCC Foundation and want to support them by raising money. Please help us help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about CCC Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Currently there are around 11 people on average who die by suicide everyday in Sri Lanka. For every suicide, there are many others who contemplate suicide and fail in their attempts. 1333Bikeathon "Out of the Shadows" is a bike ride for 1333km around Sri Lanka over 13 days to raise awareness and funds towards CCCline1333, a free Telephone Counselling service operated by CCC Foundation in Sri Lanka.
Sponsoring us or other riders will contribute towards making a difference to prevent suicides in Sri Lanka. Donations made in Australia and Sri Lanka are tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
