MMFM 2016 East Coast Run – Supporting Alzheimer’s Australia
Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia. Currently there are more than 353,800 Australians living with dementia. The major barriers to the development of new interventions and treatments in Australia are the lack of research capacity, funding and infrastructure.
One of the key purposes at Alzheimer’s Australia is to support innovative Australian research that offers the best hope of defeating Dementia.
Funds Raised go towards the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation, its grants program funds research into:
- Reducing Dementia risk
MMFM 2016 will see Jamie Milne
'Running the East Coast of Australia solo a staggering 2000km in 17 days from Albert Park Lake, Melbourne to Jamie Milne Training on the Sunshine Coast Queensland, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation this September.'
