This September, I joined the Sydney Story Factory's Pen to Paper Challenge and pledged to complete a rough first draft of the novella I've been writing in the Story Factory's Novella Program.
I'm up to about 10,000 words at the moment, but hope to reach 15,000-20,000 by the end of September. I hope to have produced something that is okay to be read by somebody else as a draft.
I've decided to take part in this challenge because I'm passionate about supporting Sydney Story Factory and supporting young people to explore their creativity. I'm currently one of the volunteer tutors in the Novella Program. It's been great working with the students on their novellas, which are so creative. I've also volunteered with some one-off programs at SSF and some after school programs with younger kids - everytime the workshops are engaging, creative and the kids come up with loads of ideas.
My plan to achieve my target is to write for 20 mins most mornings on my novella and whenever I get a spare moment.
If you have even $10 to spare to help Sydney Story Factory, please donate!
