We are are not your ‘typical athletes’ or ‘health fanatics’ you might think crazy enough to sign up to ride 240kms through India! We are not sure we even remember how to ride a bike! So if not for the entertainment we will bring to the #onyabike team, we share the desire to help spread the word on child trafficking and will do just about anything as our quest!
As parents to Poppy, Saffy and Tansy, we are are always on the run and getting involved where help is needed. Brad is often on the back of the local fire truck, whilst Lucy signs up to opportunities where she can help foster the concept of social justice both in Australia and abroad as well as rescuing a few too many animals on the way!
So please support us in our fundraising efforts putting our feet to the pedals to help some of the worlds most vulnerable children. Thanks for giving generously!

A serious note from Lucy:
Would you let a stranger walk into your home, place your child who is dressed for bed on their lap and read them a story? Feels a bit wrong doesn’t it?
I first encountered this feeling on a trip to Nepal in 2013 and it started me thinking, ‘if it’s not acceptable for my children, it shouldn’t be acceptable for any child’. Hence my interest in child protection and rights of children, particularly in developing countries, was born. As part of the journey I started, I came across Australian charity, Forget Me Not. In a coffee bar overlooking a bustling Kathmandu street below, I heard first hand about child trafficking. The harsh reality is that a great deal of children in orphanages there were not legitimate orphans.
This profoundly changed the direction of my future legal aspirations (I was studying law at the time), from a more corporate setting to being destined to develop my legal career in the realms of social justice. Armed also with my knowledge and experiences as a Registered Nurse I’m set to take on the challenge of raising awareness for India’s most vulnerable children! And also excited to be supported by my husband and eldest children in this venture.
Now to remember how to ride a bike!
Love Lucy xxx
