Are you able to move, speak, breathe and swallow freely? Right now, 2,000 others living in Australia can't. These people are living with motor neurone disease (MND).
MND is a progressive neurological disease, and sadly, it is terminal. For every person diagnosed with MND, it is estimated a further 14 members of their family and friends will live with the effect of MND forever.
The total cost of MND is approximately $1.1 million per person, and the average life expectancy is 2.5 years. MND NSW, the individual and their family and friends, are those that fund this cost.
A close friend of mine is part of this group. Her father was recently diagnosed with MND. I am doing my part to help raise much needed funding and I would love if you would support me!
I will be competing at an Australian powerlifting competition, in Canberra, in late June 2019. I will donate the $$$ equivalent of my total, which is the sum of my highest scoring single repetition of squat, bench press and deadlift. My previous total was 300kg - let's see how much can I beat this by!
I will be lifting in support of MND. #lift4MND
If I am able to raise $10,000, I will participate in the #icebucketchallenge at the end of my competition, and post it on my Instagram for you all to see!
At the time of my competition it will be the middle of winter in Canberra (which I have aptly named, Antarcti-Canberra, for its notoriously cold winters). There is a very real possibility that I won't actually need any ice for this #icebucketchallenge, as the water may freeze when we walk outside.
So please, if you can, join me and #lift4MND!
Pssst. Here is my Instagram so you can enjoy watching me get soaked (as I know we can get to 10k!), and maybe follow me on my journey to my comp - @miss_kristina_angeli
