We lose 100's of Australians to drowning every year, the majority of which that could have been avoided due to proper education, supervision and respect of environment. While our beaches and public pools often employ Lifeguards to be a safeguard in these high traffic swimming areas, no number of Lifeguards can replace the close supervision required by parents over young children in these environments. Watch Around Water is an education program which aims to raise public awareness to address the growing concern around supervision of young children at public swimming pools.
On the 28th of May a group of Pool Lifeguards and Aquatic staff members are running to support Watch Around Water in trying to spread this awareness and be able to improve water safety education. We are aiming to raise $1000 for this great cause and need your help to do this.
