This cause is very close to my heart as my dad was diagnosed in September 2015 with Grade 4 Brain Cancer. Sadly, dad lost his battle 10 May 2016.
In the short 9 months after dad was diagnosed, we had many special family milestones that we were able to celebrate together; he walked me down the aisle, my daughter's first birthday and my brother’s engagement party. These events brought dad a lot of joy and fulfilment!!!
It's hard to believe that it's been a year since we got to share laughs together, hug and kiss and talk to each other. There has been some lows during the past year but we have had some fantastic highs too. Knowing you were there along side us for it all brings great comfort.
Even though our time together was cut short I know that I have one of the best dads anyone could ever ask for!!! I'm forever proud to be his daughter and to carry a piece of him on in me.
Looking at Dad and Mum I aspire to be the best version of myself each day including a being a hard worker, a caring parent, a loving partner and a giver to society.
We miss Dad each and every day and even though we can't see or talk to him, I know he is with us supporting us and giving us strength to move forward.
Please join me in the Beanie for Brain Cancer week by putting on your beanie to raise much needed funds to promote research, heighten awareness and support brain cancer patients (children and adults) and their families within the community.
Together we’re tackling brain cancer.
