My Story

I've created this page to help raise money for the Sydney Story Factory, which helps give kids a safe and fun outlet to express themselves creatively, no matter what their background and experience. By donating you'll be helping build confidence, communication skills and self-worth for young people at risk of disengaging from school - $50 pays for one child to participate in a book-making or story writing workshop!

You'll also be helping motivate me to get my writing muscles fit again! I will create an illustrated blog of poetry and micro fiction, capturing the moments and people that make life marvellous. Maybe you'll be one of them!

Pen to Paper Challenge 2016

This September writers of all varieties are committing to putting their pens to paper to keep the creativity pumping at the Sydney Story Factory. They're challenging themselves to sit down and WRITE and asking friends and family to sponsor them.
Want to sign up someone UNDER 16? Please click on "Continue Reading" to see important info.
We've already blitzed our original target! Amazing! So we're going higher, with a big bold stretch (gulp) to $30,000. Will you help us get there? $30,000 will guarantee no fewer than 600 places in one of SSF's signature book making or robot bird poetry workshops for marginalised children. Thanks for your support!
Are you registering a young writer under 16? Call the page your child's name. Then all other details, including date of birth, need to be your own to create a fundraising page on Everyday Hero (you have to be over 16 to be able to fundraise). If you have any problems at all email debbie@sydneystoryfactory.org.au. Thanks again!
