My Story

Dear Sponsor,

https://give.everydayhero.com/au/kicking-goals-for-sick-kids-2017

The Kicking Goals for Kids at Westmead 24-hour Soccer (Futsal) Marathon, is about kids (and parents too!) raising money for other kids at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. We are pleased to be holding our sixth annual event which aims to raise much needed funds for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. What better way to do this than by playing a 24 hour continuous game of soccer! This year’s event will be held at The Centre Dural on Friday the 25th August (6pm) to Saturday the 26th August (6pm).

Over the last 5 years, the event has contributed over $300,000 to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. In 2016 over $107,000 was raised and used within the Heart Centre, Oncology and Neurology departments. Please see attached, how the money raised has directly impacted on the kids at the hospital. Our aim this year is to raise over $100,000, with all proceeds to be used within the Heart Centre, Oncology, Neurology and the Kidney Centre.

Thank you to Joseph and Carla Zouein for their continued support. Their daughter, Gabi has had several life-saving heart operations at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Big Joe will again run the 24 hour BBQ together with the team from Ample Firewood.

Thanks again this year to Fraser Gray from KidsFutsal. He has run the 24 hour continuous game every year and ensures it is fun for all.

This year the event will be held again at The Centre at Dural, which is an outstanding community facility. Thanks to Dale Lennon and Margaret Drummond and the team for allowing the use of their great facility.

Thanks to MLC Advice who will provide showbags to all the kids that participate in the event.

Thank you to our major sponsors: Paragon Risk Management, Global Nutrition, Snooze Alexandria, Gosford Quarries, Chris Waller Racing, Ray White Westmead, Herbert Smith Freehills, Quickfix Smash Repairs, C & A Joinery, Vertex Integrated Services, Sitlec, Northland and Ample Firewood for your generosity and significant donations.

Participating players range in age from 5 to over 55, both male and female. Thanks also to all the kids and parents who participate and contribute to this event.

This year there will be over 500 players participating in the event. There will be some great football played over the 24 hours and if you get a chance, please come down and support the players. There will be a BBQ, face painting, silent auctions, raffles, super heroes, special guests and more. Captain of the Futsalroos (Greg Giovenali) will bring a team of current and former Futsalroos to play against Mile Sterjovski and his team of All Stars.

This is not only about raising money for a great cause, but about kids learning to support other kids.

Please find attached the event flyer. Thanks again to www.sodus.com.au for putting these materials together.

Please make a donation and help us kick goals for kids with cancer, heart disease and epilepsy. Please note that all proceeds collected are received directly by the hospital. All donations over $2 will receive a tax receipt and are tax deductible. You will receive an automated email with a donation receipt.
