I've created this page because I want to make a difference in the lives of people diagnosed with brain cancer. I'm inspired by the work of QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, and want to support them by raising money that will go directly towards funding better outcomes for Glioblastoma(GBM) patients. GBM is the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer. The prognosis is very poor, offering little hope of cure or long term survival. I was diagnosed with this terminal illness in 2005, but somehow I survived. I want to use my experience to give hope to those struck down with this terrible disease.
To raise awareness about GBM and fundraise for the great work that QIMR Berghofer are doing I'm embarking on a 385 km solo hike from my home in Mt Perry to Toowoomba. I'm departing on the 15th of August 2016 and will arrive in Toowoomba 28 days later!
I'm asking people to either donate directly via this website using the 'Give Now' button or sponsor me via donations of physical items that I can either raffle or make use of during my hike. Please contact me if you would like to donate physical items:
The more people that know about QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
