My Story

I've always been a storyteller, I've spent a lot of my life thinking about imaginary people. But it took a long time to find the courage to write about them and 10 years of working at it to get published. I lived the joy and hard slog of writing so I'm thrilled to be part of the Sydney Story Factory's Pen and Paper Challenge to encourage others to get their words and stories onto the page.
I'll be slogging it out with the Sydney Story Factory writers in September. I have to finish by next novel in October so I've set a target of 5,000 words a week for a total of 20,000 for September. It's going to be tough so help keep me motivated by clicking on the Give Now button!

Pen to Paper Challenge 2016

This September writers of all varieties are committing to putting their pens to paper to keep the creativity pumping at the Sydney Story Factory. They're challenging themselves to sit down and WRITE and asking friends and family to sponsor them.
Want to sign up someone UNDER 16? Please click on "Continue Reading" to see important info.
We've already blitzed our original target! Amazing! So we're going higher, with a big bold stretch (gulp) to $30,000. Will you help us get there? $30,000 will guarantee no fewer than 600 places in one of SSF's signature book making or robot bird poetry workshops for marginalised children. Thanks for your support!
Are you registering a young writer under 16? Call the page your child's name. Then all other details, including date of birth, need to be your own to create a fundraising page on Everyday Hero (you have to be over 16 to be able to fundraise). If you have any problems at all email debbie@sydneystoryfactory.org.au. Thanks again!
