HAVE BEAR WILL RUN - The Royal Run
On the 26th of June I will be strapping the Bandaged Bear to my back again and running from BUCKINGHAM PALACE in England to EDINBURGH CASTLE in Scotland. Running 600km in less than 2 weeks will catapult me well outside my endurance comfort zone, to a place I have not experienced. I am very much aware of my own imitations and this 'Royal Run' will challenge every mental and physical fibre of my body.
As with previous adventures though - It will all be worth it... To honor a little man who's shining light has not faded one little bit.
Lucian was a 5 year old little man at The Westmead Children’s Hospital when our paths crossed and I am a better person for having known him. He was a cute little man, full of passion and cheeky energy. He was a Lego expert and had a absolutely loved garbage trucks! He showed a zest for life that was both heart-warming and endlessly courageous. Lucian will always be remembered for the joy he brought to people’s lives and the light he shone in an otherwise difficult time. He is the toughest little warrior I will ever know.
Following a number of previous adventures supported by countless generous people, The Lucian Page Scholarship was founded in 2013. It is a lasting memorial to the amazing little man and the lessons he taught us. The scholarship named in his honor provides an opportunity for cancer surviving students to show the same enthusiasm for life and chase their dreams of continued study.
To date there have been 6 young men and woman how have battled cancer and are now chasing the dreams with the support of Lucians Scholarship.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for donating. Your support means the world to me. The money raised does not only help another young student follow their dreams but it ensures that Lucian's legacy lives on - as it rightly should.
