On the 31st March 2012 I fell from the sky and broke my spine in two places. I had taken off from the internationally popular take off site, Mt Borah, Manilla, flying a paraglider cross country. The crash occurred just north of Barraba, about 37kms out. The Wespac helicopter was called and I was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle where I received expert care.
I am so grateful I can walk and have recovered so well. I would like to show my appreciation and give back.
In May 2013, I celebrate my ability to walk and do all the crazy things I love to do, by embarking on a journey which will take three months to complete. I will be walking the Canning Stock Route, 1850km of remote Western Australian desert, solo.
Walk with me, following my progress across the desert on www.canningwalker.com and please, show your support for Wespac Rescue Helicopter Service. By flying to my aid, they helped make this walk possible. I am only one of thousands they help in this way. Each time we help one another, the world is a better place to live in.
