My Story

I'm the kind of writer that needs organisations like Sydney Story Factory, the kinds of groups that give storytelling the respect and attention it both warrants and demands. I want for my work as a writer to continually challenge my peers and strive for all of us to achieve greatness in our field, and what better way than to push myself for a deadline while supporting my colleagues?

I owe my love of story to my Year 1 teacher, who introduced me to the Choose Your Own Adventure series. I've never looked back. Supporting Sydney Story Factory means a whole new generation of young people could have such a figure in their lives.

My goal is to write 'Monument', a play that's been stagnating in my brain for 5 years. Please help me and this inspiring organisation!

Pen to Paper Challenge 2016

This September writers of all varieties are committing to putting their pens to paper to keep the creativity pumping at the Sydney Story Factory. They're challenging themselves to sit down and WRITE and asking friends and family to sponsor them.
Want to sign up someone UNDER 16? Please click on "Continue Reading" to see important info.
We've already blitzed our original target! Amazing! So we're going higher, with a big bold stretch (gulp) to $30,000. Will you help us get there? $30,000 will guarantee no fewer than 600 places in one of SSF's signature book making or robot bird poetry workshops for marginalised children. Thanks for your support!
Are you registering a young writer under 16? Call the page your child's name. Then all other details, including date of birth, need to be your own to create a fundraising page on Everyday Hero (you have to be over 16 to be able to fundraise). If you have any problems at all email debbie@sydneystoryfactory.org.au. Thanks again!
