CDH Sunflower Sunday is on November 10th
This is our seventh consecutive CDH Sunflower Sunday. Hundreds of family members and the community have been to CDHSFS events in recent years, raising over $60,000 in the last two years alone! In 2019 we're calling on you to help us break all records with a very important goal in mind.
Our goal: $30,000
Thanks to a start-up grant from CDH Australia, our research partners at the Hudson Institute have been furthering their CDH Research Project. Head of the Richie Centre at the Hudson Institute, Professor Stuart Hooper, recently wrote to us:
"The funding has also allowed us to make an unexpected discovery, showing that physiologically based cord clamping may have highly significant benefits for assisting CDH infants to transition to newborn life, when they are most vulnerable. These findings have prompted much interest in the US and Europe to translate these outcomes into a clinical reality, but so far not in Australia, which is largely due to the logistical issues.
We would be delighted to continue our partnership with CDH Australia and, given the above, I think that investing in a Concord table would be the perfect way to ensure that the results of our pre-clinical research, which you funded, are translated into clinical benefits for Australian babies. Purchasing a single Concord (~$30,000) will allow us to join international clinical trials for babies with CDH and also preterm babies."
Help us support CDH research by funding a $30,000 Concord table to enable Professor Hooper and his team to continue their incredible research to help future CDH families.
