'Bounce4Batten' is all about spreading awareness for Batten Disease, we hope through our bouncing and sharing our story people will learn more about Batten Disease and make a donation to the National charity organisation BDSRA and support much needed research for a cure.
Batten is a rare, debilitating and fatal condition affecting mostly children. 'Bounce4Batten' was launched in 2014 by the family and friends of Mia, a 5-year-old girl suffering from Batten Disease. The inspiration was for friends and family to promote awareness by bouncing and posting photos on social media. The joyfulness of bouncing delivered a message of awareness that resonated. The reaction was fantastic, friends and friends of friends from around Australia and as far afield as New York, Singapore, and Paris bounced and posted.
In 2016, we hope to spread the bouncing fun even further and create awareness for all Batten children and their families. We hope that our awareness will play a part in supporting Batten Disease and in turn a much needed cure through research.
