I’m travelling around Australia in 2019 to raise funds for the Mark Hughes Foundation and to promote brain cancer research. My wife Jennifer passed away in January 2018 after a long battle with breast cancer, lung cancer and finally brain cancer. Throughout Jenny’s illness, we enjoyed travelling around Australia in our caravan together and also took trips to various countries around the world. Jenny approached life wanting to get the most out of every day and live her life to the fullest. I’m taking this trip around Australia for the second time in her memory, hoping to make a difference as I do so by raising funds for brain cancer research.
Funds donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation primarily go towards brain cancer research, with running costs kept at a bare minimum. To date the Foundation has raised over $10 million, funding a Brain Cancer Biobank, Travel Grants Program, 10 research projects including 2 Fellowships and a Brain Cancer Care Coordinator. Brain cancer research is still very underfunded in Australia compared to other cancers, so I’m looking to help change that through my travels by creating awareness and increased support for the Mark Hughes Foundation.
I've created this page because I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work of Mark Hughes Foundation and wanted to support them by raising money. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Mark Hughes Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
