My Story

Having run the Great Ocean Road running festival and the Melbourne half Marathon in October 2018, I'm now training for the New York City full marathon in November 2019 to continue raising money for a cause close to my heart. My goal is to raise $15, 000 to support police officers suffering from PTSD in Victoria.

I was the Crime Reporter at Nine News in Melbourne, Australia for about 4 years and in that time have felt the toll of being involved in awful incidents across Melbourne. The involvement police have is obviously even more confronting and taxing than that of journalists.

When awful things happen in the city and our suburbs, the closest most people get is hearing about it from friends, watching it on the news or sometimes they don't come across it at all. Conversely, police have to deal with these unfathomable sights and situations every day. I've learnt the impact can be massive and there's very little appreciation of this.

Specifically, the money I raise will go towards 'Fighting PTSD Vicpol' through the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation. Its goal is to raise money for hospital engagement and to establish a specialised emergency services PTSD clinic.

This cause affects police officers but also their families and friends. Please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance! 👮‍♀️👮

We are here to assist D/A/Sgt Glenn Holland and help raise awareness for PTSD and mental health issues for our Victoria Police members

We are Cassie Zervos from Channel 7 news, Neary Ty and Lana Murphy from Channel 9 news.

have for years been reporting via print media and now through commercial television of what our emergency services men and woman attend to everyday.

For the past 2 years we have been supporting Detective Acting Sergeant Glenn Holland and our good friend Channel nine Crime reporter Alexis Daish to help raise awareness for PTSD and mental health issues for Victoria police members.

Now with Lexi working as the US correspondent for the next few years. The three of us have decided to step up and fill the void.

Everyday we report on what is happening across Victoria but only on what we see from outside the crime scene tape. We can't imagine what members have to deal with constantly inside the tape.

We are proud to support the #fightingptsdvicpol campaign and this year as the new ambassadors, we will be participating with Glenn in several running events around Melbourne.

We hope to raise over $5,000.00 with these donations to be held in the Blue ribbon mental health fund and will assist the Blue ribbon foundation to continue its valuable work with proceeds to support the WHY (We Hear You) program for mental health services and initiatives for those who are or have served

If anyone needs assistance please use the support numbers on our website www.protectingtheprotectors.com
