I grew up with a passion engrained for the environment after spending much time in my childhood gaining an appreciation of the outdoors. After recognising the issues the NSW landscape was suffering from, I relished the opportunity to work with the community for both the social interaction and the knowledge of having a broader impact on a huge proportion of public and private land in NSW.
One of the major projects we have worked on is the Shoalhaven Intrepid Landcare Project. In this project, we had the opportunity to work with young local motivated people with a passion for the environment and the Landcare ethos. Working on a range of projects help empower locals and improve the condition of the local land. Our activities and interactions have led to further opportunities creating wider positive ripples through NSW communities.
There are a number of local and broader environmental issues affecting NSW. These include weed and pest management, river and water health, soil condition and drought. The team at Landcare NSW work to support and represent the grassroots Landcare networks in turn work with and support the local community and farmers helping them to overcome issues and instigate projects to help minimise adverse environmental issues.
Please help the Landcare group coordinate activities and projects in NSW by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button this Christmas. The more people that know about Landcare group projects in NSW delivered with local partners, the wider the impact. All funds from this campaign will get split across Landcare NSW allowing initiatives to take place all around the state. Please spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance, it means a lot!
