On Sunday 2nd December a group of awesome athletes will be participating in the Busselton IRONMAN Western Australia on behalf of the official charity partners, melanomaWA.
Members of Team melanomaWA will be participating in one of the following:
- IRONMAN Western Australia (Swim 3.8km, Bike 180km, Run 42.2km)
- IRONMAN 70.3 (Swim 1.9km, Bike 90.1km, Run 21.1km
- 70.3 Team Relay (3 members each complete a leg or the 70.3
- IRONKIDS (aged 7-13, distance varies according to age)
This is no mean feat, starting in the early hours of the morning finishing hopefully before they hand out glow sticks (seriously).
Team melanomaWA have already started their training and will cover thousands of kilometres even before the hit the start line all because they believe in what we do.
The aim of this IRONMAN is to help us raise awareness and funds for melanomaWA.
melanomaWA is a non-profit organisation set up to support people who have been diagnosed with melanoma. melanomaWA was founded by Clinton Heal, who was diagnosed with secondary melanoma back in 2005 at the age of 22. He has been living well with melanoma for over 10 years and understands what it is like to be on the same journey as those diagnosed. melanomaWA is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for people who have been touched by melanoma is some way, whether as a person living with melanoma or as part of their support network.
We encourage you to visit their individual pages to see their personal stories and how you can support them.
